Welcome to La Brisa Wedding Month! I am hoping to catch up on all the full wedding blog posts and today I am happy to feature Kat and Tin’s amazing wedding that I photographed in San Ramon, CA!

In 2000, I was an immature, ignorant and lazy 18 year old kid who was beginning an aeronautical engineering degree at UC Davis. Two of my three roommates, Tin and Jason, were also engineering majors and we were all terrible at doing school. We played Counter Strike. ALL THE TIME. I nearly failed out of college because I am definitely not an engineer. Fortunately, Jason and Tin proceeded on to graduate with their engineering degrees and are incredibly successful engineers. I photographed our third roommate’s, Ari, beautiful wedding four years ago in Lincoln, MA and now I just need to photograph Jason’s wedding! =)

I met Kat on numerous occasions as she would come and visit our humble abode in Davis fairly frequently. She was stunning then and has only become more beautiful ever since. After Kat and Tin’s Attraction Session, I knew that their wedding would be positively epic because of their #HousePham theme! And obviously, their wedding absolutely exceeded expectations! Crying, laughter, inappropriateness, family and friend love was overly abundant.

The wedding was full of emotions. Kat was one of the most emotional brides that I have ever photographed. As they say, she wears her heart on her sleeve and that is what makes her so charismatic and awesome. Tommy, Tin’s best man, gave one of the most touching and heartfelt toasts that I’ve witnessed. I feel like everyone cried tears of joyfulness throughout their day.

Kat and Tin have been together longer than Brisa and me. Which is crazy to me because I feel like we’ve been together forever. They get it. They know what it takes. They’ve endured. They’ve flourished. The happiness, thoughtfulness and creativity of their wedding was such a perfect reflection of their personalities and their relationship!

In Kat’s words…
“Chris Hsieh is an ARTIST! Sarah Gudeman is a photog gem! The thing that some brides do not realize is that your wedding day goes by SO FAST! You only remember bits and pieces, highlights, but even then, its like a dream. Chris and Sarah were able to catch all the moments from our special day. They truly can see what really matters to you as a couple and bring so much color and emphasis into those moments they capture. For instance Tin and I are huge on Phamly and Phriends (a play on our last name, Pham). Nothing means more to us than our family and friends. Chris and Sarah picked that up right off the bat, and really focused on that value. We are also, very light hearted, so of course Chris and Sarah captured some funny moments/on the verge of inappropriate moments as well. I am so completely happy choosing Chris, I look at my wedding photos all the time and still after a year I find moments I didn’t know happened. Also icing on the cake was Chris was able to capture my husband cry, which IS AWESOME! #HousePham.
