On a very very early morning in the beautiful town of Manhattan, KS, I hosted the latest Aspiring Photographer Workshop (APW) with a focus on senior portraits! The lovely, glamorous and incredibly gorgeous Morgan helped me out (again) but getting up ridiculously early, getting her make up done by a fantastic makeup artist in town (Trisha
) and then posing for the camera on a fairly chilly morning! Yes, Morgan is beyond awesome. She’s bey-awesome. True story.
Thank you so much for everyone who attended! If you are interested in attending future APWs, please submit a request to join our FB group page – La Brisa Photography Workshops (APW)! Or send an email to email@example.com to get on the email list!
Here is a list of the attendees:

Here are a few photographs of Morgan and then some of the behind the scenes that all photographers love! Definitely check out the attendees’ sites to see me in all of my ridiculousness in action!
We were blessed with an incredible sunrise!
Trying to shoot at a higher ISO to create a purposefully grainy black and white – failed to remember how clean the higher ISO settings are on the 5DII =)
Worked on silhouettes for a bit
Morgan is amazing.
Light flare at f/1.2
Off camera lighting techniques
Utilizing direct sunlight
Showing lines and rules of thirds
Apparently this is called the “infinity wall” and I’d definitely agree!
A new trick that I learned: don’t have your models close your eyes completely or else the makeup doesn’t look as clean; instead, have them look “SUPER down!”
Some of the attendees in action! Love seeing all of the different perspectives!
Even while lying down, we’re still really happy about it!
