Welcome to La Brisa Wedding Month! I am hoping to catch up on all the full wedding blog posts and today I am happy to feature Melania and Louis’s amazing wedding that I photographed in Orosi, Costa Rica!
Holy Costa Rica! I love Costa Rica. Pura Vida. In 2002, I was fortunate enough to experience a Spanish Immersion Program where I spent 4 weeks in San Jose, Costa Rica with an incredibly generous non-English speaking family. During that trip, I fell in love with the tico culture, the food and the people. Plus, the country is absolutely stunning! My interest in photography grew exponentially while exploring the entire country, but especially in Manuel Antonio when I photographed this image… Ever since then, I always wanted to go back to Costa Rica and have Brisa experience it with me. Well, when Melania inquired about having me photograph her wedding in Costa Rica, I literally LEAPT at the opportunity. Plus, Louis is in the military and so I would have the privilege of photographing a serviceman AND a Costa Rica wedding! Double win! Thanks to Meredith and Caleb for referring Melania and Louis to me! View Brisa and my Costa Rican adventures HERE.
Melania and Louis’ wedding was full of Costa Rican traditions and midwest humility. The most beautiful aspect of their wedding was the seamless mixture of families, friends and cultures separated by thousands of miles. Everyone truly embraced the affable and upbeat pura vida mentality. I loved every second of it! They were married at the Iglesia Colonial de San Jose de Orosi that was built in 1743. As a historic Catholic church, the best part of their ceremony was that the doors were open for anyone and anything to witness their wedding! One of my favorite images from their entire day was this one when a dog made himself comfortable during their ceremony!
What I love most about Melania and Louis’ relationship is their giddiness. She is incredibly sweet, delicately soft spoken and absolutely stunning. He is chivalrous, charming and has piercing blue eyes. Together, they laugh, a lot. Throughout their rehearsal and wedding, anytime they were together, they were smitten and overjoyed. They share quick telling glances that are ridiculously adorable. From their first look at the ceremony through the pulse pounding, ear splitting Carnivale at the reception, Mel and Louis never wavered in their giddiness. Their love for each other was wonderfully tangible and amazing to witness!
Thank you so much for trusting me with your awesomeness! I feel so blessed to be your photographer and I hope you still absolutely LOVE your images!
