Welcome to La Brisa Wedding Month! I am hoping to catch up on all the full wedding blog posts and today I am happy to feature Kimberly and Mike’s amazing wedding that I photographed in Defiance, MO!

I first met Kimberly, her mom, Cyndi, and her dad, Ken, when they drove from St. Louis to Indianapolis to attend one of my Aspiring Photographer Workshops. They drove nearly 4 hours each way for a two hour photography workshop of which, due to the time change, they missed half of it. As I was about to start the APW, I remember answering Kimberly’s phone call when they had just realized the time change difference and I could hear laughter throughout their car. Kimberly’s family laughs. A lot. And a family that laughs together is the most beautiful sound in the world.

When Kimberly inquired about having me photograph her wedding, I was beyond thrilled because I loved her energy and enthusiasm! Well, Kimberly and Mike’s wedding was extraordinary! She looked absolutely stunning and radiated contagious joyfulness throughout her day. I love the way Mike looks at Kimberly. Every glance in her direction is filled with a respectful love and chivalrous protection. Kimberly and Mike fit together perfectly. They humble each other with deference and reverence.

Kimberly and Mike’s wedding was unlike many others that I have photographed. They prioritized spending time together and dancing the night away with family and friends. Honestly, they provided me with the most time that I have ever had with a bride and groom. And I loved every second on it! From their first look at Francis Park to jumping fences at the St. Louis Zoo, to driving around the beautiful roads of Defiance in a cherry red Mustang convertible and finally to the scenic grounds at Chandler Hill Vineyards, I absolutely loved photographing Kimberly and Mike’s relationship. They trusted me infallibly and I’ll be forever grateful for that privilege.

My favorite aspect of #BoyleBigDay was Kimberly and Mike’s families/friends. Everyone went from emotionally excited to drunken happiness. The feeling of love and support for their relationship was tangibly overwhelming throughout their day. As the smoke from the fireworks dissipated and the band played their last note, hugs, tears and high-fives were prevalent. A perfect ending to a perfect day!

“Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and Chris was a HUGE part of that. He made us feel the most love we’ve ever felt. I can’t thank him enough for making us pause at all the right times to realize the impact of that 12 hours on our lives, for being the LAST thing we were worried about on that day, and for being willing to risk it all in the top of a convertible while Mike was busy driving AND kissing me! Chris is unmatched by any photographer. His faith, kindness, and talent shined through in everything he did. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He came in town as our photographer and left as our friend! Thanks Chris :)”
