Happy Hump Day everyone! A preview of Diane and Alex’s Bluefield Arts Center wedding in Bluefield, WV is featured on the La Brisa blog!
The week of Diane and Alex’s wedding, rain was forecasted for their wedding day. As I drove into town, there was a beautiful layer of fog hugging the treeline of the surrounding mountains. The rain never fell and Diane and Alex’s day was surrounded by beauty, tears and joyfulness!
Alex’s dad said it best…”Alex has a way of becoming everyone’s best friend.” The more I learned about Diane and Alex, the more I was impressed with their maturity, intellect and eagerness to enjoy life. Undoubtedly, they create meaningful relationships everywhere they go. 150ish out of town family and friends descended upon Bramwell, WV to celebrate Diane and Alex’s wedding. The nearest major airport is at least 3 hours away. Hotels are sparse in the area and so Diane and Alex reserved cabins with dormitory-style bunkbeds for a truly rustic adventure! The fact that so many of their friends and family attended isn’t what even impressed me the most. I’d say 90% of those out of town guests danced until the very end and a few even tried to pay the band for one more song. There’s a gravity to Alex and Diane’s relationship and it’s proven over and over again by the people in their lives.
One of my favorite moments from Diane and Alex’s wedding was in the morning when I first met Diane at Beauty Concepts. After I arrived, I asked to start photographing her details and she pulls out the most well-loved bridal shoes that I’ve ever seen. She must have seen the confusion on my face because she immediately explained to me how she wore these heels to her Junior Prom and her Senior Ball and she knows that 10ish year later that she can dance all night in them. I thought it was ridiculously fun that not only did Diane still own the shoes she wore for her Junior Prom, she was going to rock them at her wedding! 3 hours of continuous dancing later, those shoes never left Diane feet just like she never left the dance floor. I’ve never had a bride dance as much as Diane did on her wedding day and it was awesome!
