This past weekend I went to visit my sister, brother in law and nephew in preparation for photographing a wedding at the University of Maryland. Well, Mother Nature had other ideas to say the least. 20 to 30 inches of snow fell on the area and the ceremony was postponed (will be blogged about at a later time) and we were stuck at home. When the snow let up a little bit on Saturday, I went out to take a few pictures of the conditions, my sister’s family and some of the neighbors and then on Sunday, I took a few more of their neighborhood. I have never seen so much snow in my life (not on a mountain, that is)! It was absolutely crazy!
Special thanks to all of the emergency personnel for working long and arduous hours to ensure that the roads and people were safe. I can not even begin to imagine how many of them had to miss watching the Super Bowl in order for people to get to work on Monday!
Enjoy the pictures!

Love this semi-candid picture of my sister’s family! Look at the all of the snowfall!

My wife’s poor car that I drove down

A few neighbors trying to get a jump on the snow shoveling

The snowplows created HUGE walls of snow everywhere. We were incredibly lucky to be parked where we were or else we never would have been able to dig our cars free!

Absolutely LOVE this photograph of my sister and my nephew checking out the elements

One of the awesome aspects of the conditions was how it really brought a sense of community with the neighborhood. Everyone was helping each other shovel out their cars, walkways, sidewalks, etc. Kids, dogs, and everyone was out and about chatting, laughing and having a great time!

After a tough day working out in the snow, father and son were pooped!

The snow was gorgeous!

The next morning, I woke up early and took the picture from my sister’s guestroom

Crazy amount of snow!
